Seeking People with
Chronic Low Back Pain and Co-occurring Depression
to Participate in a Clinical Trial

Researchers at the Johns Hopkins University are seeking individuals with chronic low back pain and co-occurring depression to participate in a research study looking at the effects of psilocybin, a psychoactive substance found in naturally occurring mushrooms. The study will investigate psychological effects of psilocybin, including whether or not it can help with chronic low back pain and co-occurring depression. Volunteers are eligible to earn up to $514 for completion of study related tasks and up to $500 in travel reimbursement.
Volunteers must be:
- between the ages of 21 and 80
- have low back pain and depression as an ongoing problem ≥ 3 months
- no recent history of substance use disorders
